The new HOREX partner network
It wouldn't have been possible to bring the new HOREX to market without their reliable experience, support and know-how of the HOREX project partners. From the very beginning, HOREX team has been linked to a steadily growing network of highly qualified specialists.
No funding – no project. Along with a number of private supporters, the HOREX project initiators managed to convince government investors with their enthusiasm, entrepreneurial vision, management experience and a solid, professional business plan. HOREX GmbH is supported by the KfW Mittelstandsbank ERP start-up program and receives SME funding from the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.
Throughout all phases of the project, the HOREX team received expert advice, assistance on technical issues, and general support from partners including the Fraunhofer Institute, HOREX Club Taunus, Rolls Royce, Oberursel, the Spiegel Institute and VW.
The project initiators were able to rely on top-level expertise in the development of the motorcycle and engine. The new HOREX styling was created by Peter Naumann, a freelance industrial designer with motorcycle experience and professor of design at the University of Munich, in conjunction with his company, Naumann Design.
Chassis engineering lies in the experienced hands of the renowned engineering specialists from Hörmann-Rawema. For the engine design, HOREX worked closely together with expert engine technologist Rupert Baindl. Researchers at the Institute for Internal Combustion Engines and Vehicle Drivelines at the University of Munich were primarily responsible for trials, benchmark testing and engine control. The prototype of the new HOREX presented in June was built by TT-3D.
The HOREX project was also supported by a number of automotive/motorcycle industry suppliers and service providers, including Bing (intake and lubrication system), Bosch (ABS system), Elkamet (plastics engineering), FKS (plastics injection mold), IAV (VR crankshaft and piston rod engineering), Kirstein (technical systems), Mahle (VR pistons and cylinders), Motul (lubricants), TÜV Süd (homologated of series production bike), Weber Motor (series development engine, engine components, production) and Die Wortwerkstatt (communications, media relations, marketing).
